So, as has become a theme here, it is July and I had no idea what I wanted to write about for the Southern Goth blog this month. Desperate (again), I turned to the internet and behold! I found a Blog Topic Generator . I did not know such a thing existed!
What you do is go to the link and enter up to five nouns and then it will give you a week’s worth of topics (work week, meaning five).
I thought, “What do I have to lose?” and off I went. I went with the first three words that fell out of my brain: Doll (because I was looking at the dolls on my desk), Book (because I always have books on the brain), and Goth (well, I mean…uh…title of this blog and all, right?).
This is the list of topics that I received:
- Doll: Expectations vs. Reality
- Will Book Ever Rule the World?
- The Next Big Thing in Goth
- Doll explained in Fewer Than 140 Characters
- This Week’s Top Stories About Book
Because I am curious, I went back and entered five different nouns: Dog (because Toby is lying here snoring), Cat (because Boon is having a Siamese howl-fest right this minute dear gods save me please), Snake (because she just stuck her head out of her hide-box), Salad (considering dinner tonight), and Skull (because I’m a Goth and my house is pretty much decorated in skulls).
And this is the list of topics:
- Dog: Expectations vs. Reality
- Will Cat Ever Rule the World (I mean, we know the answer to that one, don’t we?)
- The Next Big Thing in Snake
- Salad Explained in Fewer than 140 Characters
- This Week’s Top Stories About Skull
So, this topic generator is a bit limited, obviously. But I’m sure there are others out there, and meanwhile, this one has satisfied my need for the moment. My brain is churning and I am quite happily contemplating the next Southern Goth blog. But now I have to pick one. Decisions, decisions….
I’m looking forward to writing Doll: Expectation vs. Reality, The Next Big Thing in Goth, and Will Cat Ever Rule the World. Which shall I choose for August? Hm. Tell me in the comments what you think might be the best topic.
